NW Selects Rock!!!

I just found out that the U12's won the PeeWee Tier 2 Championship in Langley!
Yeah!!!!
Great job Selects!!!
Love You!!!

Langley Games: 3, 4 & 5

All losers. What more do you want to know? I got a goal in the last game. We were right there in every game, never blown out...but never the winner. I still had a really good time and we played really well. We were just 10 skaters and a goalie from the States who came together for the tournament playing against teams of 15+ skaters and a goalie who play together all season at the AAA level. We did good.

On a personal note, after much coaching (thanks Ross!) I have expanded my offensive abilities with some success. I got one tracked there for awhile and my coaches are helping me get better at taking higher percentage shots and creating ways to drive the middle instead of the left side every time. Stay tuned.

Langley: Game 2

Well, we played a genuine, bonifide Tier 1 team today when we played Prince George. We were tied 3-3 with 1:17 left in the game and we gave up the game winner. It ended up 5-3. I think we played great and for our small team to come up here and play them even for the most part is way good.

I had an amazing backhanded goal this afternoon. It was from a tight spot close to the goal and I roofed it. My teamates Miranda and Emily E. are having a great tourney. Tomorrow we play one game and then we're going to swim. The hotel we're in has an 80' water slide!

Go Selects

Angels on Ice Update

Game 1: we lost 2-1 to the South Island Breakers. We got beat on a cherry pick, which I hate, but it worked with only 5 seconds left in the game.

I'm disappointed because we are missing a few key players on our team who could have helped us win. I am afraid we may be outmatched this weekend because of it.

Game 2: 2:30 PM

This girl is playing Bantam boys!

If the weather will allow for travel this weekend, the Eugene Bantam Boys team is coming down to Medford to play the Jr. Summits Bantam team and I'm hoping to play with them. I'm still working out some details with my dad, but everyone seems to think it would be a good idea, so I've got my fingers crossed. It'll be awesome to play with some of my friends in Medford that I don't really get to play with that often.

I'll let you know!

NW Storm...

...and for once, I'm not talking about my hockey team. We have a storm rolling in tomorrow that threatens to keep me from going to Portland for a double-header with my Storm team this weekend because it might snow a lot on the mountain passess.

My dad is watching the weather and if it looks like we won't be able to leave Saturday morning, we might leave Friday night and beat the storm coming in. I really want to play in the double-header and it's picture weekend too!

I'll let you know.

The weatherman says:
SNOW IS LIKELY TO ACCUMULATE 2 TO 4 INCHES IN THE LOWER HILLS ANDMOUNTAIN PASSES FRIDAY NIGHT...WITH 2 INCHES OR LESS LIKELY ON THEVALLEY FLOORS ABOVE 1000 FEET ELEVATION BY EARLY SATURDAY MORNING.

Went Ice Skating!!!!!

I went to the rink this weekend and skated with some of my buds (ryan and his friend-calvin and bryce). We mostly just hung around and chilled. It was a lot of fun...today on the other hand I ran 2.4 miles without stopping (that's good for me) and now my legs are dying. I also shot more than 100 pucks today and did some stick handling with a golf ball on concrete! Getting the fast hands!

25 days till Christmas!!!!

40 GOALS!!!!

I reached the 40 goal mark today. I got to 40 in 19 regular season games. In comparison, I scored exactly 40 goals in all of last season. I still have some 30 games to go this season, so I really feel like the sky is the limit.

The Oregon State Hockey Association Select Camp has been announced for January. That is step one to the National Select Camp. I can't wait!

First up though, Langley, BC Canada for Angels on Ice in December with the NW Selects. It's gonna rock. I'll be playing every week with the Storm and the Jr. Summits between now and then so I can be set when it's time.

40!!!!!

There are no trophies in Burnaby...

When you win the Rememberance Day Tournament in Burnaby, BC they don't give you a trophy. They give the team a banner as seen in the team photo posted before, and each player on the team gets a stylish Champions sweatshirt like the one I'm sporting here!

Now that's what I'm talking about!

My Stats from Burnaby, Canada...

Here's my official personal stat sheet from the Burnaby Tournament. Point Streak keeps all the stats and official scoresheets online. It's pretty cool to look them up and see what we accomplished in Canada.

From the Selects website:

NWS U14s Win It All

The U14s win it all!!! Tied after regulation (4-4) the teams headed into a 3 player shoot out. Making all 3 shots and giving up 1, the NWS win the tournament in style!!! The U19s just coming off the ice from a win of their own, celebrated with the U14s for an on-ice picture and lots of hugs. The U12s, had headed home by then, but the Canadian cell towers will jammed with calls looking for updates ... the celebration was shared with all. Congratulations to all of our players and coaches for all their efforts and integrity on and off the ice.

WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!

We won the Championship Game in a shootout after coming from behind 4-2 in the third to tie 4-4. We really are Champions!!!

I got the game winner in the shootout...the Avalanche played so well!!! I was named by my coaches as the MVP of the tournament!!!

I'll write more later when I can think better!

On a roll....

We clobbered the North Shore Winter Hawks 8-0... once again, most of the game was keep away. I scored 3 goals, but it wasn't that great of a game. Another big mis-match...

Now it's on to the Championship Game against the North Shore Avalanche. They beat us 1-0 in the round robin part of the tournament. We're going to get them back!

Sunday, November 9, 2008

Back with a vengence...

We bounced back pretty well tonight. We beat Surrey 8-0. We didn't even bother to score in the 3rd period. We played keep away. Had to be embarassing for Surrey. I had 2 goals and an assist. The other team was truly out matched.

We play in the morning against a team that was beaten by the team we played tonight. Best of luck to them. We could slaughter them too. We'll see.

Championship game tomorrow. One game at a time.

2-1.

the bear from Canada

1-1 in Canada...

We lost game 2 by a score of 1-0. A key player on our team was ejected from the game in the first shift of the first period for checking from behind. It was a sketchy call. The other team scored in the 5 minute major penalty. And that was it. We'll likely face them again in the championship game and without the emotion of the ejection, and with our whole team on the bench, I'd bet on a different outcome.

Go Selects!

Saturday, November 8, 2008

Off to a good start in Canada..

We beat Tri-Cities 4-0 this morning. We play the North Shore Avalanche this afternoon. They won their morning game 3-0. So, it's the battle of the early leaders already. I was credited with an assist in the first game. Follow my stats on PointStreak...see the link in the post below.

I'll keep you in the know....we're 1-0!

Storm and NW Selects...

I LOVE PLAYING WITH THESE GIRLS TEAMS!

This past weekend, the Storm, my all girls Portland Jr Hawks team had our first 2 games. We have so much fun! We lost the first game 5-3, but tied the second game 5-5!!! I had a hat trick in each game, and an assist in the second game. When we come full strength after injuries, we are going to ROCK!

I'm on my way to Burnaby, Vancouver BC this weekend for a tournament with the NW Selects. I think we are going to do awesome! After finishing 2nd two years in a row, I am hoping to come home winners this year. I'm getting excited because all of us stay in a hotel and hang out between games...it's fun. Also, about 1,000 girls play in this tournament and that's pretty awesome. I'm sure my dad will update the website during the weekend, so stay tuned!

Shouts to the Northeast!!

Lots of folks stopping by from the Northeast States and SE Canada. Welcome! Leave me a note and say hello...us girl hockey players gotta network ya know!

Thanks for visiting.

Weekend Update...

Couldn't help using that title now that SNL is all super popular again. Anyway, I played in Medford Satuday morning and got 6 goals and 2 assists. Yeah, goalie problems are definitely an issue in the Summits house league, but hey....I still had more points than anyone else in the game. Does that count for something?

Next weekend, in addition to the Summits House game, I will have my first 2 Portland Storm games. They will be against Portland Jr. Hawks Boys teams. I REALLY want to beat the boys!!!

2 weeks to the NW Selects Burnaby Tourney....aaawww, yeah!

NW Girls Hockey Rocks!

My Portland team, the Portland Storm, may go to a tournament this February in Salmon, Idaho. We'd play on these beautiful outdoor rinks with mountains in the distance, pictured here:

Anyway, that got me looking for girls hockey in Idaho, and I found this great statewide website that details and promotes girls hockey statewide. I wanted to share it, becasue I think it would be cool if girls in every state had a resource, a listing or promotion like this...enjoy!

Idaho Girls and Womens Ice Hockey

P.S. I got the game winner in overtime this weekend in Medford! Good Stuff! I also had a great practice weekend with The Storm in Portland!

Results from this weekend...

Well, the first major weekend of hockey has passed, and I'd say my teams were pretty successful. My teams played several games with the San Diego Saints and a team from Seattle. Overall, the stats were like this:

Overall: 3-0-2 with 7 goals and 1 assist

Game 1 : NW Selects vs SD Saints tie 1-1 (1 goal)
Game 2 : NW Selects vs SD Saints tie 2-2 (1 goal)
Game 3 : Portland Storm vs Seattle win 3-1 (2 goals, 1 assist)
Game 4 : Portland Storm vs Seattle win 3-2 (3 goals, first hat trick of the season!)
Game 5 : NW Selects vs SD Saints win 6-1 (1 goal)

It was a great weekend and I had lots of fun hanging out with my teams!

THIS IS SO ME !!

Pretty hot...eh
(By the way thats Alexander Ovechkin)

Monday, October 6, 2008

Wow...we're in full swing....

Lost again this weekend here in Medford. We still have mad goalie issues. I care about winning and losing, but I just can't take it too serious when the scores are so bad. My team scored 6 goals...4 of them were mine. I got my bell rung by Ryan towards the end of the game. I was a little starry-eyed there for a while, but I like hitting. What I don't like is when boys hit each other and everyone celebrates and thinks it's awesome and laughs, but when I get hit it demonstrates why girls shouldn't play hockey?!?!? I can take and dish with the best of them all, as evidenced by this weekend. The boys need to get over themselves, stop trying to play crash-up derby and actually play a little hockey. I'd like to win...for once!

Went to Portland for a power skating clinic this weekend with the Selects. It was a lot of fun. It was directed by a figure skating coach, so we had a pretty good time razzing her and giving her a hard time. I did my best backwards, butt pump figure skating impersonation...it was way good!

I have the opportunity to play in 6 games this weekend, but I probably will only play 4 or 5. The three most important games that I will definitely play in are the NW Selects U14s vs San Diego. This is our first test this season and I am stoked. We are going to play 3 times over next weekend up in Portland. I'll keep you informed.

Drive for 25!

XOXO

So starts the 08-09 season...

Well, I started the Jr. Summits House league this weekend...with a loss. It's really hard to have any emotion about winning or losing in this league because there's so many issues affect the play here. Because of the numbers, we play over a broad scope of ages, so sometimes there are some crappy match-ups with big kids facing off against little kids. also, we have some newer goalies who are working hard, but still learning. when the scores for both teams are in the double digits, you just kinda say, "yeah, whatever..." Individually, I did have 3 goals and 1 assist of my own. That's a good start I suppose.

I also had a practice weekend for the Selects up in Vancouver. It was really good, and I think our team is going to be so strong this year! We start games in a couple of weeks. I'll keep you informed.

Finally, I've started my annual fundraising drive...The Drive for 25! I need 25 people to sponsor me at $25 or more to help me pay for all of this. I thank you all so much for your support and I am working very hard to make you proud!!!

Pictures coming soon! Later!

Random thoughts...

So, I MADE THE NW SELECTS U14 TEAM! I'm pretty excited because this team ROCKS! The try-outs were awesome and fun up in Seattle...I got to see all my hockey besties and my dad and I always have a good time when we travel together. I think this team is going to be amazing this year, and the whole Selects organization is going to be sweet!! I have a practice weekend for the girls team this weekend up in Portland and that's always fun because I get to hang out with Coach Candace and Cailey from the U12 team. Candace is still MY coach in so many ways! So now I gotta just get my practice on!

So today is the first preseason Blackhawk hockey game. So the season is finally here!!!:) My first official house boys team game is this weekend. I am the oldest one on my team but I am not the only girl on my team! I'm glad:). I'm thinking we may not win every game, but I'll get lots of playing time and that's why I skate in Medford anyway...just to get more ice time.

Well, my thoughts are all over the place....gotta check the score on the Hawks game. Later.

Let the tryouts begin...

Really, I only have one tryout for now, but it's tomorrow! I'm trying out for the NW Selects U14 Girls Team. I'm confident that I will make the team because I have been in the Selects program for 2 years now. Still, the competition is good this year and I'm a year young in my age group. So tomorrow we're off to Renton, Washington for a two day tryout at the Ice Castle Arena. Wish me luck!!! Go Selects!!

Monday, September 8, 2008

Tomorrow, I'm going to beat the crap out of Chris Chelios...

Starting tomorrow I can take the Blackhawks to the Stanley Cup, I can race a zamboni and I can beat the crap out of Chris Chelios...and don't think I won't do it either...I'M COMING FOR YOU TRAITOR! I may not be able to pick it up tomorrow, but sometime this week...it's NHL 2k9 for the Wii! Click here for the game trailer!

San Jose MLK 2009

I just found out that I am going to the 2009 San Jose MLK Tournament in January with a blended U12-U14 team! This is going to be awesome. The tournament brings the best teams from all over the country including Alaska and as far as the Northeast. The defending National Champs will be there too! BTW, the MLK tourney in San Jose always has the best sweatshirts too...
The team I'll be travelling with is part of the NW Selects/Portland Jr. Hawk Program and so we have some pretty good talent on that team. We'll see how it goes...but I'm pretty stoked!

So this is me in my Patrick Kane tee/jersey thing and my pajama pants, on my computer...yeah its pretty sweet! So the reason I'm bring this up is I want everyone to know that I liked him first...okay? If you haven't noticed this dude is amazing he is a 19 year old rookie in the NHL and he already made it in the olympics!!! (its my future...JK). He is all over the place advertisments! So yeah I love him!!! Oh yeah, and the pic on the bottom right is where I got the shirt! (its in Chicago)

Camps (they go on and on)...

So I've finally got a break from camp to write again...(phew)...I still have two more weekend camps and a tryout! At first I really just wanted to stay home (so basically, I was home sick) for awhile but, now that I'm home I'm like camp sick I guess you would call it. :( It is nice to be home though, like tonight I'm having a sleep over and today I got to see a bunch of my friends! So I'm pumped about the next camps! They won't be as fun as last weeks NEEHS though because I went with a friend of mine and I got to stay at her house and everything... IT WAS A BLAST!! I'm thinking about moving to West Linn...where they live!

Northern Edge....again....

This week I'm up in Vancouver, WA at Mt. View Ice Arena for the Northern Edge Goal Scoring Camp. I did the Northern Edge Skill Development Camp on my home ice in Medford 2 weeks ago. See the post below. These camps are some of the best I have been to and I am learning alot and getting in great shape for the season! It's cool, because it's being run by the same group of instructors. Also, I am getting to stay with my mom at my Portland Coach's house.

Weekend before last, I was up in Kent, WA to do a NW Selects skating camp just for the weekend. It was run by Teka Parks, the NW Selects U19 coach. It was really good....very, very technical and I learned a lot! I can't wait for the NW Selects try outs in September!

This weekend, I have to try out for the boys Bantam Travel team in Medford. I'm confident that I will do okay. Also, the Drive for 25 will start soon, and I am thinking of some new incentives for support of my play....think about it!

I found out today, that I tuck my jersey in on the same side Wayne Gretzky did back when he played....hmmm....coincidence or just a sign of future greatness?

Shouts to my Mawmaw and Pops....glad you finally made it home.

Late.

Northern Edge Camp Update

Today was the second day of my fist summer camp, the Northern Edge Elite Hockey School's Skill Development Camp. I've been working hard and...I'm beat. I hurt all over too. There are about 50 skaters ranging in age from 5 to about 17. For Southern Oregon, I think we all look pretty good too.

At the end of the camp on Monday, they awarded the '212 Award' for the skater who had worked the hardest, shown the greatest effort and who came to camp to really learn. I won the award on Monday. So, today I got to wear the 212 Winner jersey during camp and lead a few of the on ice activities. These are some pics my dad took.

So right now I'm in Miami, and I'm having a blast! The two boys that play roller hockey are really good one of them (matt) has a youtube video you can view here. Hope everyone is havin a great summer...love ya:)

Spring League...

Hey this is Jerin! I just got back from a field trip from school... I wanted to tell you a little about spring league. So after the season I started the spring league. A lot of different people come that usually don't play at my rink during the normal season... so, during this time I meet a lot of new people and meet new competition. I feel like I'm really learning and improving a lot. I love you!!!!

The Summer Hockey Plan

Sorry for the delay in posts, after returning from Chicago and a recent trip to Bend and an upcoming trip to Eugene (all during school time) I've had a lot to do. I have been able to finally solidify hockey plans for this summer and I AM PUMPED!

Spring league continues for another 4 or 5 weeks - so I'm way into that right now, but here is my rough summer schedule:

Northern Edge Elite Hockey School: July 14-18, Medford, OR

Northwest Selects Mini-Camps:

July 19-20, Everett, WA
August 9-10, Tri Cities, WA
August 23-24, Portland, OR

That's all for now, but you never know...we'll see. Later.

Here comes memories of Chicago!

So here are some pictures we took before the Blackhawk game that I went to with my dad!! The trip was a present from my parents for my 13th birthday. The Blackhawks beat Detroit like a drum. They won 6-2!! It was awesome!! I will be talking a lot about the trip in the next few blog posts, as well as add more photos... its kind of like a series...
We took the train into the city from Oak Park where we stayed and got off near the United Center. There was a park there that had a great view of the Chicago skyline. Of course, I was sporting the Hawks jersey and we stopped to get a pic with Sears Tower. PEACE!
Other pictures I included in this post we shot all around and inside the UC. They include the scoreboard, the ad board, the indian head on the outside wall and a rad statue of Blackhawk greats! I took some 200 pictures, so I am hoping to share a few with you here and there. Enjoy!

Shootin' Pucks

So today my dad and I went to the elementary school close to our house and shot pucks. I was in my pj's (it is spring break). So here's a pic...

My dad's actually shooting the pictures from behind a chain link fence, and I'm shooting off this cool slick pad we found in the shed.

So my Nene (my grandma which you might know) is in town for my birthday... we are going shopping this week!!! :] Well, I better go to bed... it is late, it seems really late because I stayed up unyil like 1:15this morning. Richmond MVP Award

Here's a picture of the MVP award I won in Richmond, BC:

It says 2008 Richmond Girls Ice Hockey MVP and then it has this Inuit style block figure often found around the Vancouver area. It's really nice!

Game 4: NW Selects 3 vs South Delta 2

WE WIN!!!

Today we played the South Delta girls and we won 3-2! This was an important win, because it kept us from finishing last. I wish we could have our 1st game against Chiliwack to do over...I think we could beat that team, because they beat this team too. By winning, we finished 4th, Chiliwack 5th and this South Delta team will finish 3rd. Richmond and Langley will play for 1st I bet.

Oh and 1 more thing...I got the MVP of the game. I still did NOT score, but I did have some good chances and my dad says I created some opportunities for others. I got a lot of ice time. The last goal with about 2 minutes left was off a clearing pass I made. I was not credited with the assist, because Laura did most of the work herself, but I did get the puck up and out of the zone to start the rush. The team manager from the other team polls their parents and picks the MVP...I like that. Anyway, it's a beautiful little trophy and I'll take a picture and put it here later.

3 days to the BIRTHDAY...and counting!!!!

Game 3: Langley 4 vs NW Selects 0

(posted by dad)

Jerin lost again this afternoon 4-0 to Langley. The team looks better with every game, it makes me wish they could play together more often. Even though they have yet to win, they really don't look half bad for being 1/2 peewee, 1/2 squirt playing in Canada against Tier 1 AA and AAA Peewee Teams. We made the girls line up tonight as to who was U12 and who was U10 and we really are almost 50/50.

Jerin had her best game of the tournament so far. She was playing with lots of heart and lots of passion. She got a penalty for interference, but she really just tangled up with this girl at the puck and they both went down. Somehow she got the call. She did score a goal, but way late - while she was celebrating - the ref decided to call one of our girls offsides. Go figure. Her coach called it a pretty goal...stolen.

Well, we're hoping not to get swept with a win tomorrow. I won't really care as long as Jerin plays like she did today, or better....

Game 2: Richmond 6 vs NW Selects 2

Well, coming to a PeeWee AA tournament in Canada with a half squirt team is starting to show... We lost to Richmond (the host team) 6-2 this morning. We played much better than last night and with a lot of heart, but they took our 2-2 second period knot and beat us up pretty bad in the end. They just had lots of weapons and we could hold them defensively.

I had a great no look pass in the second that got some good comments and I did have a penalty for checking in the game, but overall I was still quiet when it came to scoring.

We play Langley this afternoon. They beat a team that beat us pretty bad, so I don't know how it'll turn out.

Stay tuned.

Game 1: Chiliwack 4 vs NW Selects 1

Well... we had our first game today at 2:00. We lost 4 to 1 to the Chiliwack Warriors. My friend Miranda scored the first and only goal. They scored right back. It was 2-1 for most of the game and then it got away from us in the end. My dad said I skated well, I just need to shoot earlier. I guess I'm looking for that perfect goal sometimes. I had one really strong backhand opportunity, but the goalie was up to the task.

Oh well, hopefully things will go better tomorrow! I'm gonna go eat and maybe go swimming with some of my teammates...

Canada Update 1: Friday Morning

So I'm in Canada right now... its awsome, except some of the t.v. channels are in chinese and french and the hotel is lame to be as nice as it seems. The Burnaby hotel is 100x better.

The team had practice last night in Bellingham, Washington. We look great!

On the way there we had a car accident right outside of downtown Seattle. It was a huge like 12 car pile up. It was about 5 different accidents in 1. It closed I-5 for about an hour. But don't worry everything is just fine... ours was just a little fender bender. We were one of the only two cars to drive away. Here's a link to the news about it: Car Crash. Never a dull moment with my dad. My coach passed us in the accident, so I just jumped out and got in with her. So I didn't miss anything.

There was a huge wait at the border, so that really sucked. It's pretty funny that you pass by this huge Peace Arch that says "Children of a Common Mother". I'm like, if we share a common mother then why can't we just share the house we all live in too. We had to wait a long time just to have some guy wave us through. Too funny.

We have our first game today at 2:00. Sooooooo I'm super pumped. Check back tonight and see how we did.

Championship Game :[

So on Saturday we had the Jr. Summits Championship game. The score was 4-3, we lost by one goal and it was really close the whole game, but it's all behind me now because... I'M GOING TO CANADA!!! I know you probably know that by now but I'm SUPER excited. Just to let you know it is only two days from today until we leave. What you may not know is that we are going to be playing Tier 1. Tier 1 is the highest classification of Junior hockey in North America. So that means we are going to play some hard teams. I'm ready for it though. The website says that the whole tournament will include some 67 teams and over 1000 girls. You could visit it here if you wanted: 11th Annual Richmond Ice Classic.

Well, another good thing I found out today was, I got straight A's in school.

This is kind of random but my mom made the best dinner tonight: macaroni chili bake -mmmm. :]

Two 1st place medals and a trip to Canada...(SWEET!)

So on Monday, we had our Jr. Summits Annual Skills and Drills competition. I competed in the 12 and under age group as the only girl with about 22 other boys. I had a lot of fun and I won two 1st place medals out of the three competition activities. One of the 1st place medals was for best puck control. I was the fastest player to stick handle a puck through an obstacle course (in any age group...U10, U12 or U15). Another 1st place medal was for the most accurate shot, it's called 'the million dollar shot$$'. No, I didn't really win a million dollars, but I did win the competition. All my friends were cheering for me, and I think I like that even more than getting the medals. I almost won the fastest skater award, but I finished half a second out of 1st to a boy from Mt. Shasta, CA. There are no medals for 2nd place in hockey. Even in the pros, you win the Stanley Cup or go home empty handed. After the practice we had a potluck and hung out with friends and ate food.
Oh yeah... by the way I am going to Canada in eight days. I am sooooo excited!!! My dad is taking me and we're going to Richmond, BC Canada with my girls team... the Northwest Selects:]. Its our last tourney this season.:[ I'm going up hoping to bring home more hardware, so stay tuned....

Lame, Fame

So on Saturday we were missing a lot of players. So we played four-on-four. We won 13 to 14 but still it wasn't a real game and I can't put it on my stats. (my dad wont let me). So I'll tell you right now. I scored a goal and got 2 assists. No penalties but I almost got in a fight with this dumb boy. ( I don't know why they even think they can be on the ice). On the good side I got a post from two good friends on my blog. One was a fellow teammate (check out her hockey blog here) another was just a fellow hockey lover. You guyz know who you are, THANKS!

This is my 1st 40 goal season...

With last week's 4 goal game in Klamath Falls, I have reached the 40 goal mark in actual games for the 1st time ever. It's a sweet mark, with 2 weeks and 1 tournament left in my regular season. I'd like to reach 50, but who knows. Maybe I can pull down a few more assists and knock down a 40-20 season. That'd be awesome....keep your fingers crossed and I'll let you know.

2nd Annual LAHA Ice Cup Champions!

I got to play with the Portland Jr. Hawks Girl's team this weekend in Eugene, OR where Lane Amatuer Hockey Association hosted the 2nd annual Ice Cup Tournament. We played 4 games over a three day period and we went undefeated winning the tournament and bringing home the cup! I had a great tournament, scoring 6 goals and getting 4 assists. I had 5 penalties in the 4 games and I won an MVP award in the 3rd game. The best game was the championship game where I scored our 1st goal, assisted on the 2nd goal and iced the game with my teams 4th goal. It was sweet! Now I have some house action through the rest of February with both the Summits and Jr. Hawks, then in March I'm headed to Canada with the Selects...should be awesome, so stay tuned.
Pictures of my trophies and the tournament coming soon!

Getting the game winner...and a new sweatshirt!

So I had a five game weekend this weekend...it'll help get me ready for our tournament next weekend. My teams went 2-1-2 on the weekend, and three of those games were my Jr. Summits Peewee boys travel team against the Portland Jr. Hawks Peewee boys travel team. In that series we were 1-0-2. It was a tough good series. The highlight of the weekend for me came in the win against the Portland team where I broke out and got the game winner. I got love from everyone on the ice...except the Hawks of course. It was awesome.

I'm adding a photo I took today with a new sweatshirt I got. My Uncle Gregg and Krista from Missoula, MT sent me this rad Missoula Hockey sweatshirt. This is a picture of me sporting it at the RRRink.

Next weekend, I'm in Eugene all weekend with the Portland Jr. Hawk Girls team in a tournament. It'll be good. We're playing all boys teams. I'll let you know.

A Very Big Update....

because so much has happened lately! First, the site needed a little update, so even though it is essentially the same, some thinigs went away, some things got added and lots got moved around.
Secondly, The Drive for 25, you know, this...

is on an official note - over! I finally reached 25 sponsors and raised $960 towards my hockey and travel expenses. A special thanks to everyone who contributed to my goal...you can see who you are over on the scrolling sponsor list. Unofficially, this season continues to be a huge financial endeavor and if anyone reading still wants to sponsor me, look back in the archive and see what that means.

Here's my Portland Jr. Hawks photo...I don't like it...but my parents say I need to share it...

I played in the first annual MLK Dream Cup this past weekend with my Jr. Summits boys team and we won the whole thing. We did lose to Eugene 1-0 in the 1st round, but beat them 3-2 in the championship game. I was named MVP in the 1st game against Klamath Falls and finished the tourney with 2 goals and 3 assists.

So that catches you up for now....I have three games this weekend, 1 house, 1 travel and 1 Portland Jr. Hawks. I'll let you know!

Thanks for everything!
Jerin
